Towes, Keith, Seabrook make Canada’s Olympic roster

AUTHOR: Jeffrey Bartl | IN: Blackhawks | COMMENTS: None Yet

Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook will represent Canada in the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver.
Toews and Keith are no real shock, but the addition of Seabrook comes as a mild surprise. Steve Yzerman constantly spoke highly of Toews, and Keith was a lock. Congrats to Seabrook.
I know there are a lot of ‘Hawks fans out there no happy with most of the roster heading to Canada, but it’s important to the players. Therefore, I support it. Let them play and have their fun. Congrats, fellas.

Trap game by definition: Stars 5, Blachawks 4

Trap game (n.) — Contest against lesser opponent sandwiched between two important games versus quality competition which favored team is expected to win but often loses
I hate being right. I knew it. I f-ing knew, and that’s why the Blackhawks’ 5-4 loss to Dallas last night especially chaps my ass.
If Cristobal Huetever faces the Stars again while wearing the Indian head, I’m going to break shit. For whatever reason, the Stars bring out the worst in him. Huet gave up four goals on a mere 10 shots, with the two back breakers coming right at the start of the second period which [...]

I’m in love and he’s in Dallas: ‘Hawks vs. Stars preview

AUTHOR: Jeffrey Bartl | IN: Blackhawks, Dallas Stars | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Yeah, I’m talking about John Madden. He’s swell. Actually, it’s a song. I stole the line. Shoot me.
The last time these two teams met Oct. 17th, Dallas had Blackhawks fans showing Cristobal Huet the proverbial door. Huet played like dogshit, giving up four questionable goals and driving me to drink enough alcohol to kill the population of a third-world country.
Well, things have changed. Dallas sucks, the Blackhawks are atop the Western Conference and Huet has won over most of the meatheads. With all that being said, this could be a trap game for the ‘Hawks coming off two big wins [...]

I love you, John Madden: ‘Hawks 5, Predators 4

AUTHOR: Jeffrey Bartl | IN: Blackhawks, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ve made no secret about my non-sexual crush on John Madden. I love him. He does everything right and deceives people into forgetting about him just because he doesn’t light up the score sheet.
Well tonight, Madden made sure you remembered just how important he is to these Blackhawks, starting a rally that led to a 5-4 ‘Hawks victory against Nashville at the United Center and ending a 14-game goal-less streak in the process. God I love him.
After being sprung on a breakaway by an Andrew Ladd feed and scoring on a nifty move to tie the game 2-2, Madden shortly [...]

Thank you, thank you very much: ‘Hawks 4, Preds 1

AUTHOR: Jeffrey Bartl | IN: Blackhawks | COMMENTS: None Yet

Sorry for the lack of updates, everyone. But this is one of the few Blackhawks blogs being run by a solitary soul, and even bloggers need a holiday break.
It’s about time the ‘Hawks decided to play with Nashville from the opening faceoff rather than wait until midway through the second period to figure things out. I’m happier than hell the ‘Hawks have only tonight’s game to get through before we can write off the Predators for the rest of the season.
The Blackhawks’ 4-1 win in Music City provided me a nice, relaxing Saturday night. At no point in this game [...]
