		<description>I did think of that as well, but is the revenue from what they would earn in a playoff appearance -- and it&#039;ll be a short one -- be worth the risk of losing Kovalchuk and getting nothing in return? I don&#039;t know the answer to that, but I&#039;m assuming they would think of that when the time comes and he hasn&#039;t been signed to an extension.</description>

Trading their biggest star (and Captain) would not only be a white flag on the rest of the season, they&#039;d wave goodbye to whatever possible revenues they could hope to pull from a playoff appearance.</description>
