TSN.ca is reporting the Blackhawks have traded Cam Barker to the Minnesota Wild for d-man Kim Johnsson and Nick Leddy, who was Minnesota’s 2009 first-round pick.
This obvious cost-cutting measure is the first of what we expect to be a couple more moves before the trade deadline and this coming off-season. Barker is in the first year of a 3-year, $9.25 million-deal he signed this past off-season when someone in the organization fudged up presenting qualifying offers.
More to come later.
