This weekends the former Hawk’s were very busy, and this Espo is jam packed.

On Friday there were nine former featherheads to take the ice scoring two goals and one assist for three points. The one goalie who played was cooled down losing for just the second time since switching teams.

On Saturday twenty-one ex-‘Hawks played. The lamp was lit several times because of these guys, four goals and seven assists totaling eleven points. The big scorers were in the Atlanta vs Florida game where the three former hawks who played added eight points, including big games from Big Buff and Andrew “The Captain” Ladd. The one goalie who played lost his first game in nearly three weeks.

Wrapping up the weekend on Sunday, there were seven former Blackhawks who played tallying just two assists. The goalie lost his decision for a team who has struggled in it’s last couple games. The goalies this weekend didn’t fare to well.

Thank you to Tom Leonard for the kind email as well as pointing out that I was missing a couple of former ‘Hawks in my daily post. You will see a couple of new names in this post. Also thank you to all who read the post everyday! I am glad that you like the post! If you see that I am forgetting anyone else or have a idea to help the Espo or even just want to say hi send me an email at brandon.spinner@valpo.edu and I will try to get back to you! Hope you had a great weekend and that you enjoy today’s post!

Friday

Travis Moen – Montreal
Thanks to Tom Leonard for pointing out to me on Friday that I was missing Travis. Had I included him in Friday’s post here’s what his line would have looked like:

Craig Anders(s)on – Ottawa
Loss (18), 23 saves on 27 shots, .852 SV%

Bryan McCabe – New York Rangers
16:22 TOI, plus three, one shot
Tom also let me know that I was missing Bryan. Going into the game on Friday McCabe had played 51 games scoring five goals, eighteen assists for twenty-three points. He was a plus two and had 28 PIM.

He played 79 games for the ‘Hawks in the 1999-2000 season where he produced twenty-five points on six goals and nineteen assists with a minus eight, and 139 PIM.

Dustin Byfuglien – Atlanta
23:05 TOI, three assists (28,29,30), plus two, nine shots
First multi-point game for Buff since December 20th. Really good game for the Big Guy, and was considered for a 4th point,

Andrew Ladd – Atlanta
21:22 TOI, two goals (24,25), one assist (25), plus one, 2 PIM, five shots
Now Ladd has a career high 50 points after this performance which he just carried his team. Scored the game winner 25 seconds into Overtime due to a great pass from Big Buff. Since February 7th, Ladd has scored nine goals in eleven games, and has added two assists to that. He is playing really well right now. He leads the team with 50 points.

Sergei Samsonov – Florida
18:03 TOI, one goal (11), one assist (17), minus one, three shots
Between the three former Hawks in this game, they combined for eight points, three were goals the other five were assists.

Colin Fraser – Edmonton
13:33 TOI, three shots, 6 of 14 on face-offs

Jason Strudwick – Edmonton
19:32 TOI, minus one
Jason is one of the four that Tom helped me with. On the season he has played 28 games and has scored just two points, both were assists. He is a minus fourteen which is terrible in just fourteen games. He also has 21 PIM.

He played as a member of the ‘Hawks during the 2002-2003, 2003-2004 seasons combining for 102 games, three goals, six assists, a minus twenty, and had 160 PIM.

Michael is the last of the newbies that Tom has helped me out with, On the season he has played 65 games scoring nine goals and has sixteen assists for a total of twenty-five points. He is even in the plus minus category and has 18 PIM averaging somewhere around seventeen minutes of ice time per game winning 51.8% of his face-offs this season.

He was a Blackhawk for just eight games in the 2006-2007 season. He was able to manages eight points in those eight games scoring three goals and had five assists for a plus four rating. He added 6 PIM and scored those three goals on just nine shots. he was traded to the Hawks for Kyle Calder and suffered a torn ACL due to a cheap shot from Dennis Wideman.

Adrian Aucoin – Phoenix

Only made it six minutes and twenty-eight seconds into the t=seconds period before getting yanked. Back to back losses for the netminder and Philly has now lost four straight.
