Western Conference Quarterfinals Game 2: Blackhawks vs Coyotes (PHX leads 1-0)

The Blackhawks look to bring this series back to Chicago tied at 1 with a big win tonight.  Don’t look for too many changes from either side tonight.  Phoenix head coach Dave Tippett did announce that leading goal scorer Radim Verbata  will play tonight.  Verbata missed almost all of Game 1 after suffering an upper body injury due to a hit from Andrew Shaw.  Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews showed no ill effects after his first game back.  He participated in an optional skate on  Friday.  Coach Q didn’t show any lineup changes in today’s morning skate but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any.  I hope that Brandon Bollig is watching from the pressbox tonight.  The Blackhawks would be better off either using the defensive skills of Michael Frolik or the size of Jimmy Hayes.  There are rumblings that Sami Lepisto will replace Sean O’Donnell as the 6th defenseman tonight.  Let’s all hope this happens.  The Blackhawks will need to improve at the faceoff dot and do a much better job of clearing the puck from their own zone if they want to win tonight.  Bring it on home boys!
