Dave Bolland was able to tie is career high in goals with 19, but he had a drop off on his assist total. Bolland was able to play in 76 games which was very good considering he missed a total of 64 games the previous two seasons. Finishing the season even on the +/- was pretty good considering Q loves to use Bolland against the opponents top scoring line. Bolland’s 7 power play goals tied him for second on the team with Patrick Sharp. Only Marian Hossa scored more PPGs with 9. His 3 shorthanded goals lead the team and his 10 total special team goals was second behind Hossa’s 11. Bolland did improve in the faceoff circle by winning 48.4 % of his draws. Dave was one of the best Blackhawks in the post season even though he did not score a goal. The biggest problem with Bolland is that Hawks have been waiting for him to become the #2 center they have been craving. Everyone is still waiting for that day to come, even though Dave is being paid like a #2. With that being said, do not be surprised if you see Bolland’s name swirling around the trade rumor mill this summer.
2011-2012 Final Grade: B
