No this isn’t a review of the Clark Grizwald family Vacation trip to Europe because for starters that was a comedy! This title is being mentioned because the first Chicago Blackhawk has announced his intentions to play in Europe during the lockout.
Michael Frolik’s agent, Allan Walsh, confirms Chicago Blackhawks winger Michael Frolik has an agreement with HC Chomutov of the Czech League. The last time we saw Michael Frolik he was the best Blackhawk forward on the ice duing the Phoenix Coyote series. Now he gets to take his talent to Czech Land!
If I were a betting man the next Blackhawk to sign across the Big Pond will be Viktor Stalberg
This is what doesn’t make logical sense to me from the players point of view. You would rather sign a contract and uproot yourself to play in Europe for far less money than you would make even under a new CBA than just agree to a smaller percentage. Oh bye the way you are also taking a roster spot from someone who really needs the position in another country.
Another day of lockdown and no movement. Pretty pathetic showing of a sense of urgency from both sides!
Chicagoan living in the Smokies. Huge fan of all Chicago teams except the White Sox. Worked at Southwest Ice Arena in Crestwood throughout high school years. Wish old Chicago Stadium and Old Comiskey were still around, thankfully Soldier Field and Wrigley Field can still be enjoyed. You can follow me on Twitter @OakForest72.
