On the eve of the 2013 Training camp for the Chicago Blackhawks, the man who orchestrated all the moves to get all these players on the ice at the campus of Notre Dame has been rewarded with a two year extension.
Stan Bowman received a two year extension through the 2017-2018 season this morning.
The Chicago Blackhawks announced today a 2-year contract extension for VP and GM Stan Bowman, which will run through the 2017-18 NHL season.

So the man that has been doing all the extensions gets an extension for himself. Bowman has earned it winning a Stanley Cup with Dale Tallon’s team, while keeping together the core during the salary cap purge after the 2010 Stanley Cup.
Bowman’s plan has been simple, lock up the core, find veteran parts that fit, and build up the organization top to bottom with talent. In consecutive drafts, Bowman picked up the steal of the draft with Brandon Saad in 2011 and Teravainen in 2012. He also found diamonds in the rough like Andrew Shaw in the 2011 draft.
Bowman cemented himself as one of the best GM’s in hockey with the Blackhawks second Cup in four years and now has the team poised to become a dynasty in a salary cap era. For those that doubted him in the past, almost everyone that is a Blackhawks fans has the same thing to say
IN STAN WE TRUST
