The Blackhawks skated passed the Washington Capitals in the Nations Capital 5-4 in a shootout Friday night.  Here are some quick highlights

- Jonathan Toews being back on the ice was a great site.  Toews picked up an assist and made a pretty sick move to pick up the only goal in the shootout.  He had a hip flexor which caused him to miss the training camp scrimmages and the first two preseason games.

-Brandon Bollig is on Fire!! On consecutive nights he scored goals in the preseason! There was plenty to read about his achievement on Twitter tonight!

-Jeremy Morin continues to strive to cement a spot on the roster with another goal.

-The surprise so far outside of Bollig’s new scoring touch has to be the play of Jimmy Hayes. Hayes played well all night and collected another assist along the way.

- Before the game there was talk of the Hawks carrying 8 defenseman with Ryan Stanton being in the mix, but the Stanton Brookbank pairing didn’t look ready for NHL 3rd pairing tonight.

- Dylan Olsen found the scoresheet with a goal and assist.

-Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, and Duncan Keith got the night off.

-The Hawks next game is Sunday in Detroit

-It sounded like Brandon Pirri is getting better but still doubtful for Sunday.

-The powerplay is an eye sore and it especially hurts when the Capitals and Alex Ovechkin score on their powerplay to tie the game.
