GIF: Jeremy Morin Scores As Blackhawks Top Capitals

Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman is in a good position. The ‘Hawks have a lot of talent on the roster, but only 23 will make it to the season opener on October 3rd. From Brandon Bollig with a two-goal preseason, to Brandon Saad taking a shot at second line center, choices are yet to be made.

Jeremy Morin is another one of those players on the bubble. With 30 goals in 2012-13 with the Rockford IceHogs, (Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate) Morin looks to create offense in a depth position in 2013-14. With a killer shot that he uses to his advantage, (see above) he could become a secret weapon of sorts for the Blackhawks.

In recent years, cracking the Blackhawks’ roster was traditionally harder than the majority of teams in the league, with a stacked top six, and great contract management by the front office team. After the 2010-11 season, the ‘Hawks have remained largely the same, allowing their prospects like Morin to continue to develop to a higher standard than many rookies in the league.

Morin is currently battling for a spot on the third line left by the departed Viktor Stalberg, and has fellow IceHog Jimmy Hayes to compete with. Adding a few more goals like that, he could be getting closer and closer to becoming a full-time NHL-er.
