Blackhawks Lose To Penguins 3-2 In Shootout

The Blackhawks for the second time in less than a week lost to the Pittsburgh Penguins in a shootout tonight it was 3-2 and of course it was Sidney Crosby who sealed the deal with the Penguins 2nd goal of the shootout. Here are some notes during the radio only night (thanks WGN radio)

-It’s great that the Rockford kids gave the more experienced Penguins all they could handle in their own building.

-Byran Bickell played liked he was the highest paid Blackhawk on the ice by getting both goals.

-The Penalty Kill picked up a short handed goal, but also gave up James Neal tying powerplay goal late in the third period.

-The Hawks powerplay was up to 0-21 when Jeremy Morin shot one that Bickell deflected it into the net. When the Hawks start setting the real #1 powerplay unit, one would think Bickell will be the man in the middle come October 1st.

-In the better late than never category Brandon Pirri finally got into the lineup tonight. Pirri played over 16 minutes picking up one assists and won 45% of his playoffs. I would assume Pirri will get a lot of ice time Saturday in the preseason finale against the Washington Capitals.

-Jeremy Morin picked up another assist and must be one of the five Blackhawks Quenneville stated this afternoon that is fighting for 3 spots.

-Nick Leddy led all Hawks in ice time with 28:11.

-Coach Q said to expect more cuts tomorrow.

-It’s strange that in 2013 there isn’t any TV coverage, but it was good memories of the good old days listening to the game on the radio.

-The Hawks final preseason game is Saturday night against their opening night opponent the Washington Capitals at the United Center.

Who do you think survives roster cut Tuesday?
