The 2010 Stanley Cup squad was never going to make it to the 2011 Stanley Cup. Emerging star Dustin Byfuglien and a cast of role players that led to the Blackhawks title that year wanted better contracts and they weren’t going to get that in Chicago, and us fans, we already knew that. Though the Blackhawks are not the Miami Marlins, there was a very small (and I’m talking microscopic) chance that the team wouldn’t resign some of its key contributors to last year’s title run. After a few months the team did good by most of its roster and this cast seems destined to be together for the next few seasons. However, there were some key contributors that had to leave town and the ‘Hawks are going to miss them on the ice, at least until this team comes together as the season progresses. Here is the list of the Top 5 offseason departures that the Blackhawks will miss at some point this season.

    I agree with the writer…however, Coach Q and the core veterans will educate where necessary and ice time shall cure any early deficiencies that may (operative word) occur… Go Hawks!
