What’s on Tap for the Chicago Blackhawks last week?
The extremely slow start to the season continues for the Hawks with no games until Wednesday night when the Chicago Blackhawks appear on NBCSN Rivalry night against their most hated rival in the new Central Division the St. Louis Blues from Scottrade Center in St. Louis. This will be a great early test for the Blackhawks in St. Louis against the Blues. The last time the Hawks and Blues met was in the season finale when the Hawks were basically the Rockford Hawks in a Chicago loss.
On Friday night the Hawks will be back in the United Center to host the New York Islanders and their new captain John Tavares. The last time the Islanders played the Blackhawks in Chicago was on December 2, 2011 which was a 5-4 win for the Hawks in a shootout.
The Blackhawks play in their first back-to-back with the visiting Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres have Ryan Miller and that is about all they have with little offense so far including a 1-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators. After playing only Western Conference teams last year, the Hawks kick off the season with 10 out of their first 12 against the Eastern Conference including the Sabres first visit to the United Center since January 18, 2012. The last visit was a 6-2 win by the Hawks with Jonathan Toews picking up 2 goals in the victory.
Another long lay off until Wednesday night! Can’t wait to see the Blue on rivalry night!
