On This Date in Chicago Blackhawks History,
On October 11, 1990 Jeremy Roenick scored his second career hat trick with the Chicago Blackhawks. Roenick scored his second hat trick against the Pittsburgh Penguins. During his career with the Blackhawks, Roenick recorded 6 hat tricks which puts him in a tie for 7th all-time in franchise history with Al Secord, Tony Amonte, and Eric Daze.
Although Roenick only played in 524 games in his Blackhawks career, he ranks 8th all-time in points with 596 points with 267 goals and 329 assists. Roenick was a huge fan favorite and the day he was traded was a dark day in Blackhawks history and although there would still be 1995 run to the Conference Finals the dark days were soon to follow.
Roenick’s 1990-1991 team was the only Blackhawks team to win the President’s trophy before last seasons 2013 Blackhawks. Last season the Blackhawks were able to get past a Minnesota franchise in the first round unlike the 91 Hawks.
What is your favorite Roenick moment?
