It was a big week for Patrick Sharp. Not only did the 31-year old have a great seven days on the ice, but he welcomed his second child into the family on Sunday evening. Sharp’s wife Abby gave birth to Sadie Ellen Sharp, and the news broke early Monday when Patrick phoned in to a popular Chicago radio show en route to practice. Sharp’s two-assist night in St. Louis saw both points come on the power-play, a unit much improved since last year, thanks to #10 himself. Sharp also added an assist on the game-winning goal on Saturday, bringing his point total on the week to three. Another good stat from Sharp: although a winger, he is averaging 56% on the 16 faceoffs he has taken, most on the team by a non-center. Although Sharp has yet to light the lamp this season, his game both offensively and defensively show that he’s up for another great year.
