The Chicago Blackhawks after a lot of home cooking head to the sunshine state for Fall break. The Blackhawks are still searching for their offensive legs so maybe a couple of games away from the United Center will help them discover their offensive punch. Here is a look at what’s ahead on the Blackhawks schedule this week.
The Blackhawks take their talents to South Florida on Tuesday night to face the Florida Panthers and the rats. Florida is a super hot or super cold team so you never know which one will show up at BB&T Center in Sunrise. The Panthers are currently 3-6 sitting in 7th spot in the Atlantic Division sitting only above the lowly Buffalo Sabres.
On Thursday night, the Blackhawks head to St. Pete Times Forum to face the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Hawks had the Lightning down 2-0 but couldn’t put them away at the United Center and ended up losing in a shootout. The last two times I’ve watched the Hawks in person in Tampa Steven Stamkos had a hat trick so luckily for the Hawks I won’t be in attendance. Will revenge for the earlier collapse be on the Hawks minds Thursday night?
Saturday, the Blackhawks head home to face divisional rival Minnesota Wild for the first time this season. The Wild are 3-3-3 on the young season and sit 3 points behind the Hawks at the beginning of the week. The Blackhawks need to set the tone early with the Wild, and not give them any unneeded confidence against the reining Stanley Cup Champs. The Wild are not off to the start many had predicted as a top-tier Central Division team.
What game are you looking forward to the most this week?
