When a player or coach doesn’t really show up during a Blackhawks game, they get put on the Milk Carton. As most of you know, people’s pictures used to be put at the back of milk cartons when they went missing. So the Milk Carton for the Blackhawks is more about who went missing or played terribly during the game.

For the first time this season, it’s not easy picking a player for the milk carton after the Blackhawks 5-1 victory on the road against the Minnesota Wild last night. The game was played maybe a little too much in the Minnesota end of the ice in the first 30 minutes, but the Hawks dominated the final 30 minutes to pick up an easy divisional win.

So for the first time this season we have to dig a little deeper for the Milk carton, and we came up with Marcus Kruger. To be honest I only noticed Kruger once all night when he skated to the penalty box at the beginning of the 2nd period.

Kruger’s stat line last night was full of goose eggs minus the penalty minutes and 1 shot on goal. Kruger wasn’t great on the faceoff dot either winning only 40% of his draws. Yes, the penalty kill had a perfect last night, but Brad Mills made more plays on the kill last night and looked more comfortable in the Michael Frolik role last night.

Kruger didn’t have a bad night, but on a very good night for the Hawks on the road We didn’t see much of him either!
