The Blackhawks started the week with the a trip to the White House to meet President Barak Obama. The Blackhawks now have visited President Obama twice since he’s been President, but after another day off on Tuesday they will be back at it against the Winnipeg Jets at the United Center. The Blackhawks easily defeated the Jets in Winnipeg 5-1 last Saturday afternoon in Jonathan Toews homecoming game. The Blackhawks seemed to overlook the Flames on Sunday night, so even though it looks like an easy game the Hawks need to come out focused Wednesday night.
The Blackhawks strange schedule continues with two days off following the Jets home game, and on Saturday they head to Big D to face their new divisional foes the Dallas Stars. The last visit to Dallas was pretty memorable with a 7-1 Blackhawks win with a Patrick Kane spin-0-rama to finish off the scoring.
Dallas is currently 6-6-2 but they are 3-1-2 at home so it’s not going to be just a breeze for the Blackhawks to march into Dallas and knock off the Stars. It does seem like the Hawks play better away from the United Center at times.
The week ends with back to back games for the Blackhawks as they had back to the United Center to face the struggling Edmonton Oilers. The Blackhawks with a ton of potential have sunk to the bottom of the new Pacific Division. The Oilers have given up a league leading 59 goals which is a recipie for a lot of losses. The Hawks never seem to play Western Canadian teams well no matter what the record says.
What game are your looking forward to the most this week?
