The NHL battled a boring afternoon news-wise, by introducing the new logos for the 2014 NHL Stadium Series.
The 2014 NHL Stadium Series, (not to be confused with the upcoming Winter Classic or Heratige Classic) is a 4-game outdoor hockey series, played between 7 teams. The first game will kick off on January 25th in California, and it will conclude on March 1st in Chicago, when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Pittsburgh Penguins at Soldier Field.
Not only was the general logo for the series released (above), but chromified team logos for each team participating were released. The Blackhawks’ and their companions kept the logos the same, except for the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders, with the Devils going back to the 90′s style logo, and the Islanders taking part of the logo away to make a 100% chrome mock-up.
The Blackhawks’ new logo can be viewed below. Along with the Rangers, the classic Original Six logos look just as good, and the colors of the feathers on the head of Chief Blackhawk take great presence. The matching uniforms for each of these 7 teams are to be released in the next 3-4 weeks.
