What Did Kris Versteeg Have To Say About The Trade?

Sep 28, 2013; Sunrise, FL, USA; Florida Panthers right wing Kris Versteeg (32) before a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at BB

Kris Versteeg was interviewed by WGN Radio this morning, his first interview since being traded and if you didn’t have time to tune in here are some of the highlights of what Versteeg had to say.

- Versteeg said multiple times that he was overwhelmed and in disbelief that he was traded back to Chicago.  Versteeg said he wasn’t shocked that he was moved from the Florida Panthers since almost everyone was trade bait, but was shocked he was able to return back to Chicago.

-Versteeg mentioned multiple times that Chicago is a special place for him with tons of great memories and he couldn’t wait to get back out on the ice.

-They asked him if he was ready to rap again, but claimed to be an old man now at the ripe old age of 27.

-He did throw in a Patrick Kane joke so we wasn’t in total shock!

-Versteeg said he doesn’t know Andrew Shaw at all so there will be at least some time needed to adjust to one another.

-Versteeg did end with a typical hockey saying that When he thinks too much bad thing will happen.

Versteeg sounded in total shock that he was going to be back in a Chicago Blackhawks jersey as do almost all of the Blackhawks fans.  Nothing groundbreaking in his first interview, but it was good to hear how much he enjoyed his time here and that he’s happy to be returning to where it all started for him.
