Welcome to the NHL Mr. Raanta! The man between the pipes played pretty good first full game. My favorite save of the night was this header save. He doesn’t flinch, he just uses the old noggin to deflect that puck safely into the corner.
This was as unexpected as the goal he scored back in 2010 to win the cup. Kane skates in and goes to pass it to the front of the goal but the Calgary player gets a stick on it deflecting it up and over Reto Berra. This goal would put the Blackhawks on the board and would kick start the offense.
Marian Hossa played great and this play is a perfect example of that. He carries the puck in and skates through the center of the ice drawing the Flames to him, then dishes it off to Sharp to tap in. Sharp missed a few golden opportunities, but he made sure to bury this one as he ties the game at 2.
Kane fires a perfectly placed backhander to score the game winner. Berra starts to lean expecting a pass to Andrew Shaw leaving just enough room for Kane to score. What a great ending to what seemed to be another disappointing game in Calgary.
