4-2 – Kris Versteeg (5) Wrist shot – ASST: Brandon Saad (13), Marian Hossa (12)
Versteeg has made a number of solid plays the last couple of games, and I’m glad he’s finding the back of the net. I also can’t leave out Brandon Saad’s contribution to this play. Saad’s pass was picturesque, and Versteeg makes no mistake as he puts it behind Emery.
5-2 – Jonathan Toews (13) Deflected shot – ASST: Patrick Sharp (17), Marian Hossa (13)
Toews is either injured or tired. He seems like he just doesn’t have that extra jump lately. If it was just a slump then hopefully this deflection will be a jump start to get him out of it. Toews is rather lucky he didn’t get a mouth full of crossbar on the dirty hit that followed the goal. The Blackhawks responded the best way they could by putting a few points on the score board.
6-2 – Brent Seabrook (3) Slapshot – ASST: Michal Handzus (4), Kris Versteeg (12)
This would be the goal that sent Emery to the showers early. Seabrook’s slapper loses a lot of velocity as his stick shatters. It slows down even more after hitting a Flyer at the top of the slot. At that point, Emery was out of position as the puck flutters past him and in.
7-2 – PPG – Patrick Sharp (15) Wrist shot – ASST: Patrick Kane (25), Marian Hossa (14)
This goal may be my favorite of the night for the Blackhawks. After giving our top power play units a break, the Flyers decided to throw another cheap shot, and Q responded perfectly. He tosses out the top unit to put another one in. I’m so glad the Blackhawks didn’t lose their cool and get caught up in the shenanigans.
FINAL SCORE: Blackhawks 7 – Flyers 2
