The week before Christmas isn’t the busiest weeks for the Blackhawks, and they get to stay at home during most of the holiday week. The Christmas week starts out with a visit from of all people the Devils two days before Christmas. New Jersey is 8-10-4 on the road this season and they have had huge problem scoring goals this season scoring only 90 for the season which is 50 less goals than the Blackhawks. They are solid defensively so it will be huge for the Hawks to get an early lead to open up the ice or we could be in store for a long boring game.
Christmas comes on Wednesday and the NHL freeze of games from December 24th until December 26th which includes travel. So if there aren’t going to be any outdoor games on Christmas Eve or Christmas day I guess the agreement in the CBA to go on break for three days is the 2nd best option.
When Friday arrives, a huge weekend of games against our divisional rivals will begin with the Colorado Avalanche making their first appearance in Chicago this season. The Hawks will be looking to get some revenge for the earlier 5-1 loss the Hawks suffered to Colorad0 in Denver. The Hawks have been very good at exacting revenge against the few losses they have suffered this season so Friday night will be another game for the Hawks memory to come calling! The only fear is the small possibility that the Hawks could be past Friday night for Saturdays night game.
On Saturday night the Hawks travel to St. Louis and the only team to pick up 4 points up against us in two games. Brent Seabrook ill-advised pinch in the final minute caused the first loss while the Hawks lost the 2nd matchup in a shootout. Saturday will be a huge night for the Hawks with the Division lead on the line. The Blues are playing good hockey just like the Hawks so this game could be very special from Scottrade Arena!
What game are you looking forward to the most? This coming weekend should be fun!
