The Chicago Blackhawks have an exciting week ahead of them in this week’s schedule. The Blackhawks only play three times this week, but all of the matchups are against very good teams.
Tuesday night brings the Colorado Avalanche to the United Center and a rubber match in the season series so far. The Av’s beat the Hawks easily in Colorado and the Hawks won on home ice earlier this season. The Avalanche after a torrid start have cooled off a bit, but they still hold down the third place spot in the new Central Division. The Av’s are a respectable 12-6-3 on the road and will bring it on Tuesday night.
The Hawks get a team they haven’t solved in two seasons on Friday night when the Ducks return to the United Center. The Ducks are by far the hottest team in the NHL and during that streak they defeated the Hawks 3-2 in a shootout in December. The Ducks biggest enemy this season could be the Olympic break, but it would be great to finally see the Hawks get some revenge for the recent past on Friday night.
On Sunday afternoon in a flexed NBC National game the Blackhawks host the Boston Bruins in a rematch of last June’s NHL Stanley Cup Finals which were fantastic. The Bruins are in first place in the Atlantic Division even though they have been facing the injury bug as of late. The Bruins are big and physical and this should be a great National TV game.
The week should be full of physical hard-hitting great hockey! Which game are you looking forward to the most this coming week?
