This week in the NHL we had: Ben Scrivens turn into the Great Wall, Phil Kessel shot up the goal scored leader board, Zach Parise was named Captain America, The Red Wings got Henrik Zetterberg and Jimmy Howard back, Semyon Varlamov gets a five extension, and Ben Bishop was injured. This was very good week for the NHL. The two teams that are up: Penguins and Sharks. While the Blackhawks and Devils were down.

Now onto to the rankings:

30. The Buffalo Sabres 15-31-8: Things for Sabres keep on getting worse. Matt Moulson will be out until after the Olympic Break.  Moulson sustained an upper body injury this past Thursday in Phoenix. Moulson is the Sabres leading scorer with 9 goals and 15 assists.

29: Edmonton Oilers 18-33-6: The Edmonton Oilers acquired Ben Scrivens to be their starting goal tender. Scrivens had been playing well in LA this season. His time Edmonton had not been going so well until Wednesday January 29th. Scrivens made 59 saves in a shutout victory over the Sharks. Scrivens has made the most saves in a game since Phoenix’s Mike Smith had 54 in 2012.

28. Florida Panthers 21-27-7: The Panthers have fallen on hard times losing three in a row. The Panthers were supposed to be getting in the playoff hunt before the Olympic break instead they are on the verge elimination. Tim Thomas is 14-16-3 with a 2.79 goals against average this season.

27. Calgary Flames 21-27-9: Somebody break up the Flames! The Flames have won five in a row. They defeated the Coyotes, Preds, Blackhawks, Sharks, and the Wild. They did undergo a loss this weke though. Karri Ramo left Saturday’s game with an injury.

26: New York Islanders 21-28-8: The Islanders and Thomas Vanek are still not close on a deal. While on the ice, the Islanders are on a three game losing streak. The Islander did have a great experience in their Stadium Series game at Yankee Stadium despite losing.
