25. Nashville Predators 25-24-10: Injuries have decimated the Predators all on fronts, yet they still cling to playoff hopes. They made a move to shore up their goalie position in Devan Dubnyk. Dubnyk has not been very good since coming over. So do the Preds ride Carter Hutton or Dubnyk down the stretch?

Last ten: 4-3-3, lost 1

Playoff Chances 67% – They are 12th in the west trailing Minnesota by 9 points with 23 games to play.

24: New Jersey Devils 24-22-13: The Devils are still in the hunt. They trailed by three points in the East and now Detroit is weaker due to injury. If the Devils are smart, they would ride Cory Schneider the rest of the season. Schneider is 11-11-9 with a 1.85 goals against average.

Last ten: 4-4-2, lost 1

Playoff Chances: 61.5%, They trail Detroit by 3 points with 23 games to play.

23. Carolina Hurricanes 26-22-9: The Hurricanes are benefiting from the weak Eastern conference. Despite having a poor season, they are still in the playoff hunt. Tuomo Ruutu will bringing back a Bronze medal with him from Sochi. Jordan Staal believes the break was good for his body. Let’s hope so, the Canes need all hands on deck if they are going to make the playoffs.

Last ten: 6-4-0, lost 1

Playoff Chances: 66%, they trail Detroit by 3 points with 28 games to play.

22. Washington Capitals 27-23-9: Alex Ovechkin had the weight of the world on his shoulders in Sochi. The weight of the world got to Ovechkin and Team Russia, now Ovechkin must put it all behind him and focus on the Caps playoff push.  After the 2010 Olympics when Russia and Ovechkin failed so did the rest of his NHL season.

Last ten: 5-4-1, lost 2

Playoff Chances: 72.7%, they trail Detroit by 1 point with 23 games to play.

21. Winnipeg Jets 28-26-6:  The Jets has several players that shine in the Olympics. Michael Frolik and Ondrej Pavelec shined with their respective countries. The real star of the Jets in the Olympics was Olli Jokinen. He was a force with Team Finland. He helped Finland win the Bronze Medal. The Jets hopefully can continue to ride that success in the NHL season.  The health of Evander Kane plays a huge role for the Jets.

Last ten: 6-3-1, OT 1

Playoff Chances 72.7% , They are 11th in West and 7 points behind Minnesota with 22 games remaining.
