Blackhawks Stun Blues: Game 5 Highlights

Blackhawks take a 1-0 lead  -  Marian Hossa (1) Wrist shot – ASST: Bryan Bickell (1), Niklas Hjalmarsson (1)

Marian Hossa was looking particularly dangerous the second the puck was dropped.  Hossa made sure not to miss on a wide open cage, but did make sure miss Ryan Miller as he was hit from behind by David Backes.

Blackhawks take a 2-1 lead  -  Ben Smith (1) Backhand shot – ASST: Sheldon Brookbank (2), Patrick Kane (2)

Ben Smith was another play due to score.  His play in the past couple of games has been outstanding and he was finally rewarded with a goal of his own.

Blackhawks win it in OT 3-2  -  Jonathan Toews (2) Backhand shot – ASST: Andrew Shaw (1), Duncan Keith (2)

Toews may have been the benefactor of a bad/late change on this play, but he made the best of it.  Miller gets a bit frozen as Toews fakes the shot leaving Toews with enough room to tuck it home.

A view of Keith’s pass to breakout Toews

The pass from Keith was near perfect, even if it was an accident.  This was just a beautiful transition from defense to offense and it looked so pretty.  Sometimes the bounces go your way, and I’ll take em when they do.
