Last season when the Stanley Cup was getting passed to each player for their day with the Cup one of the biggest memories was how many little kids the Chicago Blackhawks players had taking pictures with their Dads with the Cup.
This past week there was a great picture with little Stan with dad Scotty on the ice floating around the internet and twitter which was a great Father’s Day picture.

But when thinking about Father’s Day and the Chicago Blackhawks it always brings me back to the days of my youth listening to Pat Foley and Dale Tallon on the radio calling the games and sitting there listening to the game with my Dad. There was nothing better than hearing a Foley He Scoreessssss and high-fiving Dad.
Of course the real special times were when Dad scored some tickets and we got to go to the Original Madhouse on Madison Street and watch the Hawks at Chicago Stadium. There was something about that building and how incredibly loud it was and the best part was getting to spend time watching the Hawks with my Dad.
My Dad’s favorite player was Bobby Hull and mine growing up was Al Secord but now we can agree that this is the best time ever to be a Blackhawks fan cheering on Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane and the rest of the Blackhawks hoisting Stanley Cups.
I’m sure all of you have great stories about the Blackhawks and your Dad and of course I would be happy to read them in our Comments section! I bought plenty of crappy flannel shirts for my Dad from K-Mart Blue Light Specials and bad ties as a Kid, but I’m glad we’ve had Blackhawks Championships to watch as an adult and know he’s always a call away to complain about the losses though few and far between!
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!! Have a Great Day!!
