Karl Dykhuis Days Until The Blackhawks Season Opener

"<strong

We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks  October 9th season opener against the Dallas Stars.

We are down to #45 and this isn’t a great day for All-time Great Blackhawks but we do have players that have worn #45 in Blackhawks history so let’s take a quick look at these players that spent time in Chicago.

Karl Dykhuis-1992

Games-18

Goals-1

Assists-9

+1

Penalty Minutes-4

Dykhuis was traded to Philadelphia for basically the rights Kyle Calder so the Hawks won out on this trade.

Bryan Muir-1999

Games-64

Goals-3

Assists-7

+10

Penalty Minutes-63

Muir was traded to the Tampa Bay Lighting for the Michael Nylander so another trade that seemed to work out in the Hawks favor.

Vladimir Chebaturkin-2002

Games-13

Goals-0

Assists-2

+1

Penalty Minutes-6

Chebaturkin lasted one season and was not signed as a free agent, and he signed on as a free agent with the New York Rangers in 2003

Quintin Laing played in 3 games in 2004 and picked up one assist and never made it back to the NHL until 2006 with the Washington Capitals

Finally Adam Berti played in 2 games without hitting the scoresheet and no player has ever worn 45 since in Blackhawks history.

Do you have any memories of these players that have worn 45?

Be on the lookout for our Countdown to Faceoff series as we continue to work our way to the season opener on October 9th. We’re 45 days from the season opener.  Is it October yet???
