We had so much fun doing our Countdown to Faceoff series last season that we decided to do it again.  In case you’re new to the series, we’ll do a roster preview as we count down the days until the Chicago Blackhawks  October 9th season opener against the Dallas Stars.

1. Mike McNeill- 1991 McNeill played 23 games with the Blackhawks scoring 2 goals and 2 assists. His career of 63 games included stops with the Edmonton Oilers and the Quebec Nordiques with 5 career goals and 11 assists.

2. Jocelyn Thibault 1999-2004

Games-321

Wins-137

Losses-142

Ties-37

OTL-12

Goals Against Average-2.63

Save Percentage- .904

Playoffs

Games-3

Wins-1

Losses-2

Goals Against 2.62

Anytime you show a picture of Thibault you get two completely different reactions.  One is a goalie fans liked and though was under appreciated for putting up good stats for some pretty awful Blackhawks teams.

The other reaction is he’s horrible and glad I never have to see that guy again.  Thibault is only one of five Blackhawks goalies to ever win 30 games in a season but he only had one career playoff win on his Blackhawks resume.

What is your memory of Thibault?

Be on the lookout for our Countdown to Faceoff series as we continue to work our way to the season opener on October 9th. We’re 41 days from the season opener.  Is it October yet???
