When the Western Conference Finals was tied at 2-2 and the Blackhawks trailed 4-2 late in the third period, Jonathan Toews WILLED the Blackhawks to a tie game. He scored two goals in under 1:50 left in the third period. The Blackhawks would eventually lose Game 5 in overtime but the damage had been done. Toews and the Blackhawks had broken Frederick Andersen down. Andersen would get progressively worse after Game 5.

While Gordon Bombay aka Emilio Estevez was calling the Chicago Blackhawks  a bunch of Windbags. Toews was salivating at the chance to get back on the ice in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals. Coach Joel Quenneville used his “break glass in case of emergency” weapon in Toews and Patrick Kane on the same line. The Toews, Kane, and Brandon Saad produced two goals in Game 6 and helped the Blackhawks move onto Game 7.  In Game 7 took over in Game 7, he scored two EARLY GOALS and essentially crushed the Ducks hopes of winning.

Media people are now calling Toews of the best leaders in sports. The scary thing is that the media might be right. Toews, Kane, and Duncan Keith refuse to let the Blackhawk go quietly into the night. Toews is a superstar and when the bright lights come on, the bright stars shine even brighter. Toews is currently shinning the BRIGHTEST. With the Blackhawks tied at two games in the Western Conference final, Toews scored four goals in the last three games and helped the Blackhawks reach their third Stanley Cup Final in eight years. This is not Toews and Blackhawks first time in the spotlight. Everyone knows that Toews has come up large before. He has crushed the heart of Blues fans in the first round in 2013-14 and silenced TD Garden in Game Six of the 2012-13 Stanley Cup finals. It seems when Toews gets going in the playoffs, other teams are series trouble just ask the 2012-13 Detroit Red Wings. Those are just a few instances of his stellar play.

This Blackhawks core group and Franchise are being heralded as the team of the decade. If they complete the journey and win their third Stanley Cup in eight seasons. They will not only be the team of the decade but a modern day dynasty.  We as Blackhawks fans need to realize that we are witnessing history. That is type of team should not exist in the salary cap era. The NHL should be filled with parity and the Blackhawks should NOT be in the Stanley Cup Finals again.

That is why the Blackhawks are special and Toews is SO AWESOME. Toews leads a team that refuses to lose.  On June 24th 2006, the Blackhawks changed for the better. The franchise went from the darkness and started walking toward the light. On that day, the Blackhawks drafted on Jonathan Toews.  We as Blackhawks fans are thankful for everything that has come after that day.

Thank you Jonathan Toews for being our leader and winner. Thank you for being Awesome.
