Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The calendar has turned to spring with winter taking an exit which should mean better weather, but it definitely means that the Stanley Cup playoffs are right around the corner.

After winning three Stanley Cup’s in the past 6 seasons, it’s really the only thing that excites some Hawks fans this time of year with the regular season winding down.  It was that way for me back in the 90’s with the Chicago Bulls.  Sure, Michael Jordan might do something special on any given night, but the season didn’t really matter until the playoffs kicked in.

Same thing this season with the possibility of Patrick Kane winning a scoring title and Artemi Panarin possibly winning the Calder trophy, but really the only thing that matters is how deep the Hawks can go in the Stanley Cup playoffs so really it’s great the spring is finally here.

The one thing the Hawks need for the stretch run is a healthy Corey Crawford, and Joel Quenneville settle in on his 6 defenseman.  Even in the game against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday night the defense had it’s moments but thankfully Scott Darling was able to stop their deficiencies.

So here are some morning links on the first Monday of Spring 2016.
