The Chicago Blackhawks are on the tale end of back to back games, and they started doing somethings right last night in their attempt to turn things around.  The Chicago Blackhawks could clinch a playoff spot tonight with at least a point in Vancouver.

The Chicago Blackhawks needed someone to step up after their recent losing streak, and they got someone to step up in Calgary Friday night with Andrew Ladd picking up 2 goals and an assist in the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 victory.  The opening goal of the night was a real great play from Ladd, he was forechecking and found the puck on his stick all alone in front of the Calgary net and he buried it.

The Hawks still didn’t get a lot of offense even though the scoreboard read 4-1 when the final buzzer sounded.  The Hawks had 2 empty net goals in the final minute 15 seconds, yet when a team is struggling any type of win can be the win that turns things around.

It was nice to get Marcus Kruger back which should help the Hawks win faceoffs on a regular basis and help the abysmal penalty kill get back to being a very good unit that it usually year in and year out.

The Chicago Blackhawks will be missing Corey Crawford once again tonight, and the question is what don’t we know about the injury. One has to assume it is a concussion type of injury since Crawford was only supposed to be a day to day thing and it’s starting to be a week to week thing.  It looks like Scott Darling will be in net again to night and his first back to back starting job this season.

The Canucks are just playing out the string right now , so the Hawks need to strike early and often to put Canucks away early. Here are the TV Listings for tonight’s Western Conference showdown.
