Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!

The Chicago Blackhawks are said to be re-signing Richard Panik with Chicago Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman saying that a new Panik contract will not be a big problem with the new salary cap.

When I think of Panik, I thing of how good he played in the playoffs on the top line with Jonathan Toews, and how it was hard to believe that he wasn’t able to crack the Toronto Maple Leafs roster yet look like a viable option on any line with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Panik has the potential and motor to play with the Hawks with his ability to get into tight spots on the boards and make plays, but the question is did he show us all he had during the playoffs or does his game have room to grow.

Every time I start thinking of the future and contracts everything falls back to Bryan Bickell and how he showed us all his cards in the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs, but after that playoff run he wasn’t able to uphold that level of play and his contract has been a boat anchor for the past three years.

Of course Panik will not Panik will not be receiving a 4 million dollar a year contract like Bickell, but did he show us his hand or does he still have a card or two to draw?
