Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks Fans!

The big day of Jimmy Vesey meeting with teams began yesterday, and depending on which person you listen to it would appear that either the Chicago Blackhawks are still in the mix especially when you think that Vesey could be on a line with Jonathan Toews to start the season, or you can believe that he’s going to stay close to home and sign with the Boston Bruins.

I must admit that the Vesey thing is growing tiresome, and the longer it drags out the more and more I think he’s going to be more Drew LeBlanc than Artemi Panarin.

Vesey had a solid career in college, but that doesn’t always transfer over to the NHL.  The Hawks history shows LeBlanc and Kyle Baun as college stars that haven’t panned out, with both having  totalled about 4 NHL games in their career, at least Baun is still in the Hawks system playing in Rockford.

Very few players are able to come straight from college and right into the starting lineup of a team that is shooting for a Stanley Cup, so as the World Turns around Vesey this week the more skeptical I’m becoming of his ability to walk in and replace Richard Panik on the top line although just writing Panik and top line makes me what Stan Bowman to find some more talent right away.

It’s anyone’s guess where Vesey ends up, but staying close to home rumor probably is a good one to believe right about now.
