Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! We are at the midway point of the bye week, and of course fans thoughts have turned to whether or not the Chicago Blackhawks will make a trade at the deadline.

I’m going to throw it out there right now that I’m a big fan of the Chicago Blackhawks not making any kind of major move at the trade deadline, especially if it would cost them one of their young players.

Stan Bowman who out of character when he stated that he’s not going to make a big deal at the trade deadline.  In years past especially last season, I was all for a big move at the deadline, and I thought the Hawks getting Andrew Ladd was the perfect deal at the time even though it didn’t work out.

The problem with the salary cap and all of Bowman’s trades have been, youth has been sacrificed to get names out of town which is what the Hawks need now is some youth on the roster.  Stephen Johns and Teuvo Teravainen were throw ins to trades because the Hawks had to cut salary, so if the Hawks want to make a big move they would most likely have to throw in another kid which I’m not a fan of this year.

The Hawks chemistry and the games of the kids seem to building up some real momentum after some early growing pains, and with the big cushion they currently have over third place in the Central, there is no apparent reason to make a big deal.  If Bowman can pull off a minor deal for a role guy like he did with Michal Handzus back in 2013, I’m all for that though.

Lots of trade talk with no action to watch on the ice that is for sure, and here are some Chicago Blackhawks morning links to kick off your Wednesday morning!
