The Chicago Blackhawks will face-off against an Original 6 opponent tonight in Montreal.  The Hawks will have a big test when they face Carey Price tonight.

The Montreal Canadiens have been a different team since hiring Claude Julien who was let go by the Boston Bruins earlier this season.  Of course it helps when Carey Price is in net, and only giving up one goal a night.

Julien has also been getting scoring from their Captain Max Pacioretty who hit the 30 goal mark last week once again.

The Canadiens have only a 2 point lead over the Ottawa Senators who the Hawks play Thursday night, so while the Hawks try to climb past the Minnesota Wild in the Central they will be right in the middle of the Atlantic Division race as well this week.

The Hawks will be looking for a better performance from Nick Schmaltz tonight who really struggled Sunday morning which included a benching for a lot of the second half of the contest.  Schmaltz play was really the reason the top line and Jonathan Toews had been playing at a high level so seeing Schmaltz bounce back tonight will be huge.

The one thing I was saying for the first 52 games this year was when would Patrick Kane start taking over games, and well he’s done that since the beginning of February scoring 15 times since that mark.  The question is will he be able to carry that all the way to the finish line with 14 games left in the season.
