Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks online site will be showing an exclusive 2017-2018 season preview on Monday morning.

Guess what exclusive season previews mean? Yes, it means that the Chicago Blackhawks rookie tournament, and training camp are right around the corner, and if you read my post yesterday morning, it couldn’t come too soon.

The only thing about doing previews is that hardly anything you talk about ever comes true except you know 2 years ago when we predicted Artemi Panarin would have a Calder trophy worthy rookie season.

The thing that I’m most worried about is the defensive end of the rink with only Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook being real solid returning options, and that’s with Seabrooks skill on a decline.

Every other defenseman has question marks from Michal Kempny to the newly acquired Connor Murphy. Granted, I know I was yelling to play Kempny all season long last year, but that still doesn’t erase the fact that there are questions about him playing a full 82 game season.

More from Blackhawks News

The one thing that all Blackhawks fans, bloggers, beat writers all seem to be in agreement is that the Hawks will do something with the Hossa LTIR money once the season begins which for sure should be placed on the defensive end of the ice.

The third pairing as it stands right now would be Gustav Forsling, Michal Rozsival and Jan Rutta or maybe someone else like Erik Gustafsson from Rockford.  The last pairing is what really scares me right now heading into the season.

The best part of it all is we are only 46 days away from opening night!
