Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! Now that we are just past the halfway point, a question to be answered is what is the realistic for the Chicago Blackhawks now.

I posted on a picture on the Blackhawk Up Facebook page after the Sunday loss about being loyal to the team no matter what, and we got some responses that really surprised me.  The best one basically said we blindly follow what Stan Bowman does and we are exactly what Bill Wirtz wanted as fans from day one, just pay and don’t say anything.

It just amused me because we have been critical many times about Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville. The trades that Bowman made with Phillip Danault and Teuvo Teravainen thrown in were terrible deals.  There are nights when Coach Q does somethings that are head scratchers.  We used to write a post after games about Who’s Missing.

Of course we are Chicago Blackhawks fans so we do tend to error on the side of positive which brings me to the question what is a realistic expectation for this season.

I think a realistic expectation is the playoffs in which if things fall right the Hawks could make a good run, but totally realistic is being bounced again from the playoffs way earlier than any Blackhawks fan is ready to handle once again.

More from Blackhawks News

Who knows what the second half will bring, and you never know when the Hawks will finally put a streak of wins together to give them some breathing room.  The problem is they have been so inconsistent this year it’s hard to really believe they will become consistent after a 5 day break.

What are your thoughts? What are your realistic expectations?
