All FIRED up?: Blackhawks at Blues preview

So the St. Louis Blues fired coach Andy Murray today in an attempt to spark their clusterfuck of a season. Davis Payne is your new head man, and as Sam over at Second City Hockey says the name sounds like he should be the villain in some movie.

Chicago Jr. is 6-13-3 on home ice and have looked as if they’re wearing roller blades all season. Savior and recently named U.S. Olympian Erik Johnson was a healthy scratch just the other night. Whether or not Murray was trying to make a statement is now irrelevant, but it’s my opinion that move threw Blues management over the top with disgust and it led to Murray’s demise.

As far as the Blackhawks go, just, um, yeah… just keep this shit up. It’s the first game of 2010 coming off an 11-4 December which put the ‘Hawks 10 points ahead of last season’s pace. But, the Blues always seem to give the ‘Hawks trouble and I’m never comfortable when watching these games. I’ll get over it.

Puck drop is 7:30 p.m. from the Keil Center… Savvis Center… Scottrade Center in Chicago Jr. GO ‘HAWKS!
