We are getting closer and closer to the September 15 CBA deadline and yet there has been no talks at the negotiating table all week. Nothing like failing miserably in the sense of urgency department. No negotiations ever seems to really start until the official countdown clock says less than 48 hours.
Word today is that there has been some behind the scenes negotiations so that the real negotiations can start sooner than later. Commissioner Gary Bettman has decided to table any meetings until new ideas are ready to be brought to the table even though when Donald Fehr brought up profit sharing it was discarded immediately.
If you break down the change in percentage it really doesn’t break down that much per player, but since there are only 32 owners the percentage change is huge for owners. Either way if there is a lockout there will be no revenue to split either way, i’m pretty sure that is called a lose lose situation. But unfortunately it’s the fans that lose the most in this situation.
Get back to negotiating or in the worst case make sure the deal is done at the deadline on September 15th! We all want to watch hockey not watch old guys leaving negotiating rooms!! Get to Work and get the JOB DONE!!
