From the if you can’t beat them join them category, The Chicago Blackhawks signed Michal Rozsival to a one year contract today.  The terms were not disclosed.  Rozsival played for the Phoenix Coyotes last season which just happened to eliminate the Hawks in last years playoffs.

Rozsival appeared in 54 games last season collecting a goal and 12 assists and a +8 rating and appeared in 15 playoff games without registering a point with a -3 rating. The 34 year old has a career total of 64 goals and 196 assists with a +58 rating.

It will be interesting to see what Rozsival role will be, and if this signing is now the final step before the trading of Niklas Hjalmarsson or if this is just adding a veteran presence guy that is closer to 30 then 40.
