After secret phone calls and a secret meeting Saturday in a secret meeting place, there will be another meeting Tuesday since Saturday’s undisclosed meeting went well enough to continue the dialogue. I’m not very excited about this, but at least they are talking again after absolutely no movement for two weeks.
Here’s the destruction left from Hurricane Fehr so far
1. All Pre-season games cancelled
2. All October games cancelled
3. All November games cancelled
4. The Winter Classic cancelled
The next thing on this list will be season ended, well I guess it could be December games cancelled and they could still have a really shortened season but this where the rubber meets the road with this on again off again negotiation. They cannot cancel much more or they might as well say see you next October.
I’ve read many people’s post on Twitter which basically state that the tide has turned since the Winter Classic was cancelled and that is wake us up when the CBA is signed and don’t bother us now until your deal is done. Both sides have taken away games that can be replaced, but when they took away the Classic it has sorrowed many die hard fans and new fans as well.
There may be new hope but just let us know when the deal is signed so we can be talking about NHL hockey instead of KHL,AHL, or OHL. We want to see our Blackhawks on the ice talking about hockey and not about union votes!
END THE LOCKOUT!!
