The Feds Are Coming, The Feds Are Coming

What should have happened on September 15th will allegedly happen on November 28. The NHL and NHLPA will go to before a federal mediator to hopefully settle the great CBA dispute. Yes after over two months of snails pace negotiations, both sides finally get someone involved that will help at least some new ideas to the situation.
Two things before you start thinking that the lockout is going to magically end Wednesday as soon as the mediator shows up. Both sides are not obligated to sign a deal just because the calvary was called in to save the day, and secondly and more depressingly the same situation arose in 2004 and after a few days they basically threw the mediator out and the season was cancelled days later.
It’s a good sign that they chose for another option in this stalemate, but I will not be holding my breathe either until I see a signed CBA and the Chicago Blackhawks getting back to doing what we all want to see and that’s them back in action and Chelsea Dagger blaring through the United Center.
End the Lockout!!
