The negotiations that do not include Gary Bettman and Donald Fehr will continue today.  After last night’s negotiations they were described as marathon length.  I don’t care how you want to describe them as long as they are closing in on an actual agreement.

Yesterday the big WORD OF THE DAY was PIVOTAL.  Well I would think that everyday that both sides are talking is pivotal to get this season that is on the brink of total demise from never getting back on the ice.

The good news is that the owner/player meetings are already scheduled to last longer than the federal mediation lasted.  Let’s hope that today is the day that they really hammer something out and get back to doing what they do best and that is play hockey at the highest level.

If any news breaks we will have it for you on Twitter @Blackhawk_Up and on our Facebook page Blackhawk Up.  Fingers are crossed that the momentum will continue towards a new CBA and that the Chicago Blackhawks are back playing in front of a full house at the United Center.
