On this date in Chicago Blackhawks history,
On January 7, 1987 Al Secord recorded his second career 4 goal game at old Chicago Stadium against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Secord was at the top of my list of favorite Blackhawks that I have seen play.
Secord played in 466 games wearing a Chicago Blackhawks jersey and in that time collected 213 goals and 159 assists. He also collected quite a few penalty minutes with 1426 in his Chicago career.
Secord is tied for 7th all-time in Chicago Blackhawks history with 6 hat tricks and two of them were four goal games. Secord is the example of old school hockey, no helmet, could score with the best of them and fight anyone that was ready to battle.
Secord played on my favorite line of all-time along with Denis Savard and Steve Larmer. Pretty soon we will get see our favorite Hawks of today back on the ice and I can’t wait!!
Let’s Go Hawks!!
