We start our player previews with our Captain, Leader, and most important player Jonathan Toews. We will also place a link to look back at our season ending report card on each player, with Toews report right here.
One of the phrases that will get old real quick in the next week is that every franchise needs to “Get off to a hot start” with a 48 game season. After struggling with slow starts and finishing strong, Toews had a great start to the 2011-2012 season, but as everyone in Chicago knows it came to a complete halt when he was sidelined for the final 23 games with a concussion. As with Marian Hossa, the lockout gave Toews the time to rest up and totally heal from the injury.
Of course with a shortened season, the stats will not be able to accumulate like a regular season, but I still will predict the stats for each player for the season. I think Toews which was being mentioned to being in the running for MVP before his injury last season could be ready to explode in the shortened season to lead the Hawks to the playoffs and possibly bring home some hardware after the season is complete.
My over/under for Toews is 21 goals 23 assists. What is your prediction? Please feel free to put your over/under in the comments section!
