On our Summer report of Bryan Bickell, his season was described as a regression from his rookie season click here for the entire report. The one big thing about Bickell heading into this shortened season is that he will be playing for his next contract. Currently, he’s the biggest bargain on the ice for the Blackhawks right now. Bickell’s play during the regular season was lackluster at best, but he brought his A game in the Phoenix Coyotes series. Now he must channel that hard working body checking self into this season not only for the good of the Blackhawks but to get a new contract.
The Blackhawks always seem to be playing their best hockey when Dave Bolland’s line which included Bickell in the playoffs are playing good, annoying, hard hittng hockey. This should be the expectation for Bickell in this shortened 48 game season. This is Bickell’s time to rise and shine or become a footnote in Blackhawks history when he doesn’t get resigned to a new contract.
Due to his inconsistent play, Bickell’s over/under is a tough one to predict, but here is my prediction 7 goals 12 assists with 92 hits. What is your over/under for Bickell this season?
