Brandon Bollig made his Chicago Blackhawks last spring after John Scott was dealt at the trade deadline and this how we graded him for his few months with the Hawks.  Bollig is a player fans either really like for the job he’s sent out to do or really annoy because he ties up a roster spot from a real hockey player.

Bollig has one job and that is enforcer.  Quenneville seems to like to have one goonish guy on his roster to protect his stars.  Bollig was first in to fight Raffi Torres after the Marian Hossa hit which I respect, but as talent goes his skill set doesn’t really fit in with the rest of the Blackhawks skill players.

Bollig has set a career high in goals while playing for Rockford this winter with 5, but he also leads the team in penalty minutes.  Bollig was in 8 fights from February 28 until the end of the season and he shocked everyone from himself to Mike Smith when he collected his first career NHL goal in the Phoenix Coyote series with a wrister from almost the blue line.

Bollig was recalled for the start of training camp Sunday so one has to guess that he will be on the opening day roster in LA.  Bollig over/under is set at 1 goal 4 assists and 10 major fights. What do you think? Have I over or underestimated Bollig’s fight card for the spring of 2013?

Let’s Go Blackhawks!!
