I’m sure a 3-0 start has something to do with this information and the renewed great play out of Patrick Kane, but the Chicago Blackhawks vs St Louis Blues was the highest rated telecast in CSN history. The previous highest rated game was in 2010 against the Vancouver Canucks during the Stanley Cup season.
It could be the lockout was just a ploy to get everyone wanting to watch hockey games and then waiting until football season was basically over before returning to the ice, but I’m very surprised that people have returned in larger numbers than ever to the game of hockey. I really thought there would be a backlash against the NHL after the lockout, but this hasn’t been the case so far at least in Chicago.
CSN is reporting a 75% increase this season over last season first two telecasts. Congrats to CSN and it’s great news for the state of hockey in Chicago! We have the best fans anyways!!
Let’s Go Hawks!!
